In an effort to reduce the volume of hospital outpatient appointments required to triage skin conditions, Cambric has developed a simple, fast and secure clinical photography solution for use by GPs, clinics and consultants.
Archie from Cambric is an easy-to-use app that enables GPs to take images using their own smartphone and attach them to a SCI Gateway referral to specialist services, such as dermatology.
Images are securely delivered via SCI Gateway, and are automatically removed from the GP’s smartphone and PC, ensuring patient privacy and safeguarding of sensitive information.
The GP simply uses the Archie app on their smartphone and PC, there is no other hardware or software required.
Sending high quality images at the time of referral means that the specialist consultant can view the patient condition remotely and decide on a course of action or treatment.
This can save significant time for the patient and consultant, as a face-to-face appointment may not be necessary.
Archie - Benefits at a Glance:
Significant time saved for patient, GP and specialist consultant
The patient benefits from receiving specialist advice earlier, they may not need to attend hospital and can receive treatment sooner
The GP can utilise their existing smartphone (NHS-provided or personal), so potentially zero device and device management costs
Very simple and fast to use, images are uploaded to the GP’s PC for referral attachment and no copies are saved on the GP’s smart device
End-to-end encryption of images
No patient- or user-identifiable information recorded at any time
