 Meet the Team

GARRY SHERRIFF - DIRECTOR

Garry is the company’s technical architect and chief designer. With a background in complex systems, Garry’s prime role is to identify technologies and methods which improve the implementation and effectiveness of our bespoke systems.

Garry is kept on his toes by his two energetic boys. He enjoys spending time with his family, hiking the hills and splashing around in a loch!

 
 

JULIE BROWN - OFFICE MANAGER

Julie joined Cambric in 2008. She has a background in sales administration and customer service.

Julie has two boys who keep her busy ferrying them around to various activities. When she does get some spare time she enjoys country walks, the theatre, live music and the cinema.

 
 

JENNY DEVINE - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Jenny joined Cambric in 2007 having completed her PhD in mathematical modelling of complex systems where she gained experience in developing advanced 3-dimensional searching and sorting algorithms. Prior to undertaking her research degree Jenny gained experience of software development in the oil industry.

Jenny has design and implementation experience across all Cambric products including a large amount of client facing activities. Most recently Jenny is involved with the rollout of Morse within a number of health boards, supporting the client teams through data migration to the point of go-live.

Outside of work Jenny is kept busy with her family and her newfound love of vegetable growing. Jenny is also a fan of live music and is often found in a festival field with her husband and daughters during the summer months!

 
 

NEIL CHALMERS - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Neil joined Cambric in 2009, and with over 25 years in IT, has experience of a number of different industries and technologies, enjoying a balance between the development and project management sides of software engineering, with Agile projects being a particular focus.

For over 15 years, Neil has been working in the health sector on projects using C#, VB.NET, SQL Server and Oracle, and most recently, moving into Typescript and Angular development.

 In his spare time Neil enjoys live music, travel, and the cinema, as well as various sports and exercise, particularly cycling.

 
 

STEVE HARRISON - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Steve has gained a wide range of experience in Electronics, Computer Hardware and Database systems from his careers in the RAF and running his own business. After writing database systems for many SME clients around Tayside throughout the years he has decided to come over from the “dark-side” of self-employment and joined Cambric in Dec 2012.

Steve is an avid cook with a flair for making great Scottish Tablet (the other national delicacy).

 
 

JILLIAN TALBOT - PRODUCT FACILITATOR

Jillian joined Cambric in 2023 as a Product Facilitator.  With over 13 years’ experience in the NHS, Jillian joined with a background in Business Studies, Project Management and Clinical eHealth Facilitation. 

Outside of work Jillian enjoys walking, going to the gym, catching up with friends as well as going to see live music and musicals. 

 
 

BARNEY DUNNING - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Barney joined Cambric in 2013, bringing with him a wealth of experience that spans a wide suite of software engineering disciplines. He has worked for a small handful of companies since leaving university and rapidly worked his way up to team leadership, with the responsibility for large and complex systems. Barney enjoys the challenge of designing core software architecture that make software applications easy to develop across large teams.

Away from his desk, Barney enjoys spending time with his family. Some of his favourite outdoor pursuits are cycling, dog walking, and the inevitable full time taxi service he provides to his four children. He is also a keen runner and enjoys running for charity with his wife.

 
 

ELAINE FENWICK - FORM DESIGN TECHNICIAN

Elaine joined Cambric in 2019. Elaine’s background was design, advertising, and print, mainly using Adobe Creative Suite. She is always willing to adapt and up for a challenge! Elaine enjoys making online forms aesthetically pleasing and is getting more and more confident with JavaScript for the form’s functionality. We’ll make a coder of her yet!

Outside of work, Elaine enjoys spending time with her two fur babies, Rio and Kodi as well as her various crafting hobbies.

 
 

DERRICK MADDEN - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Derrick joined Cambric in 2020 bringing over 20 years of experience from local government and technology service providers.
He has worked with a wide range of technologies and enjoys the challenges of an ever-changing software landscape.

Crofting takes up Derrick's spare time and at the weekend he is likely to be found outside in all weather.

 
 

DANIEL McGUINNESS - SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Daniel joined Cambric in 2021, focusing primarily on client-side development. Passionate about usability and interactive design, he has enjoyed applying this passion to medical software through work on Morse.

Outside of work, Daniel enjoys running, hiking, and generally being out in nature.

 
 

DOM MANDERSON - SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

Dom joined Cambric in 2021, being part of the client-side development team after studying Computing Engineering at University.

Outside of work, Dom has a number of interests including football, competitive gaming, and stock trading.

 
 

ALAN COLE - APPLICATION SPECIALIST

Alan joined cambric is 2019 and is responsible for Morse support. With years of support background Alan takes pride in ensuring our customers are looked after to a high standard. Alan likes to be an outdoors person - always camping or hiking - and enjoys family life with his wife and 2 children.

 
 

CRAIG MELVILLE - TEST ENGINEER

Craig is responsible for testing our Morse Product. He has 25 years of testing experience (as an IT Contractor) having worked all over the UK and as far away as India, testing everything from banking platforms to the voting system used in the Scottish Parliament.

In 2015 he became involved in testing medical software with the NHS and from there developed a passion for medical software which brought him to join Cambric in 2021 as a full-time member of staff.

His motto is “I can break anything” and is pedantic about his testing work. When not breaking things, he juggles his spare time between his young family and restoring classic cars and motorbikes.

 
 

DAVID WELSH - PRODUCT CHAMPION

Joining Cambric in 2018, David has a background in IT & project management, product design/management and technical solution delivery.

David enjoys engaging with our clients, providing guidance and training on our Morse platform, and maintaining the Morse Steering Group and its various subgroups.

Outwith work, David enjoys making music and outdoor pursuits.
